Education institutes are public or private businesses, which employ faculty with the purpose of providing, improving or practising knowledge, capacities or skills. Education institutes can show the following characteristics:

• it can be a commercial or non-profit organisation
• teachers can be employed full-time or part-time
• education can be offered throughout the day
• education can be offered either by distance learning or by present-time studying
• the type of participants being addressed is variable
• there has to be a certain amount of participants (at least 50 people per year)
