The EUC standard acts as a European directed standard. With the help of this standard educational
institutions can prepare themselves for the modern requests in the area of professional and
further education. A high quality standard belongs to the main concern of businesses, public
institutions as well as non-profit organisations in Europe.
Based on the very different views of the European countries with regard to the type and methods
of professional and further educations as well as the discrepancy of the different systems, for
a long time seemed to be impossible to create a unified quality standard, that would lead to a
quality increase as well as the comparability of educational programmes in all EU countries.
The EUC standard was created by experts and educational institutions under consideration of
their experiences in the area of education as well as under reference to already existing
standards. The EUC standard pursues the following goals:
- to raise, to maintain and improve continuously the quality standard of educational institutes, faculty and trainers.
- to raise and improve continuously the quality standard of learning and training materials as well as training concepts
- to support faculty and trainers in creating, providing and improving their educational programs
- to make educational programmes in the area of management comparable based on an international credit point system and to enable an exchange of different modules
